dbms an overview

A relational database (dbms) is a collection of schemas, tables, queries and other elements. it is a collection of organized data. A database management system is used to interact with database, other applications and end users to capture and analyze data.

The management of a database and its data can be classified into four main functional groups:

  • Data definition
  • Update
  • Retrieval
  • Administration
